Boris Theobald / www.rocktimes.de: "Die Songs von The RockSociety sind alles andere als hirnlos und rauschumnebelt. Die Melodien, die ein Stück nach dem anderen zum Ohrwurm avancieren lassen, sind vor allem in den Refrains allererste Sahne. Da könnte sich so manche Melodic Rock-Kapelle noch eine Scheibe von abschneiden. Mein persönlicher Favorit ist "Wait For The Day" mit einem überraschend butterweichen, fast balladenhaften Chorus, der sich am Ende plötzlich aggressiv steigert, begleitet von ein paar coolen Breaks der Rhythmussektion. Überraschungs-effekte sind also auch garantiert - einmal sogar in Form eines kompletten Songs. So kratzt man sich bei "Tokens In The Sand" mal kurz am Kopf. Auch dieses Stück, das als zarte Klaviernummer beginnt und sich dann zur Powerballade hochschraubt, passt aber als Puls-Drosseler prima auf das Album. Mit "God Damn Monday Morning" verändern The RockSociety zwar nicht die Welt, sie heben aber ganz gewiss die Laune des gemeinen Headbangers.

Review of Affair "No Substitute": "...nomen est omen, fuer "No Substitute" gibt's tatsaechlich kaum gleichwertigen Ersatz. Das Teil rockt von Anfang bis Ende derart ueberzeugend aus den Boxen, besitzt einfach eine Moerder-Produktion und zaehlt fuer mich deshalb zu den besten Hardrock-Scheiben des Jahres ... "

Review about M.A.D. in Break Out 04/2007: "... die Ingolstaedter Band M.A.D. steht fuer Hardrock, der unter die Haut, begeistert und kraeftig nach vorne geht. Dafuer sorgen neben den von Bobby Altvater glaenzend in Szene gesetzten, messerscharfen Gitarrenklaengen auch die emotionalen, rauchigen Vocals von Frontsau Jochen S. Bach ... wuerde doch nur jedes Debut diese Klasse haben, es gaebe im Rockbereich wahrlich keine Nachwuchssorgen, beide Daumen hoch !"

Review www.rockunited.com by Urban "Wally" Wallstrom ... "The overall sound is surprisingly honest and upfront with Brunorock's vocals as the centre of attention. OK, it does sound a bit too good at times, and hey, let's not kid ourselves, all "live" albums have been touched up and re-done in a studio afterwards. Tracks like "Castaway" and "Take The Trophy", have clearly come alive though and you can watch.. ehh.. hear them from a different angle and point of view. There's only two tracks (Born Winner, Two Hearts One Weapon) from his "X-Over" release and sadly none of his funkier tunes. I (still) find his Italian song, "La Fonte Dei Sogni", to be his best weapon and he should definitely do an album in the Italian language and for his homeland market.

Review by independent webzine: "A new album ... from BRUNOROCK. However, this time a live album, along with 2 new studio bonustracks. Together with guitarist Bobby Altvater of AFFAIR, BRUNOROCK released a strong Melodic Rockalbum, which musically sounds like BONFIRE/FRONTLINE/DANGER DANGER and such late 80s orientated US Melodic Hardrock. The live recording is of a very high level, clearly sounding very professional and more studio perfect than real live, but who cares if the music is as strong as BRUNOROCK stands for.

Review of Boogie Stuff "Have Mercy": "... die Produktion von "Have Mercy" knallt mächtig aus den Boxen, hat man sich die Scheibe doch von Producer Bobby Altvater in dessen Sky Studios veredeln lassen. Da geht normalerweise nichts schief, so auch im Falle Boogie Stuff ... "

Brunorock's Live CD reviewed in Rock Eyez by Brian Rademacher: "BRUNOROCK is back in 2007, with a new live CD with most of the tracks coming from "Interaction" and recorded on the "Interaction" 2005 promotional tour. If you're a melodic rock fan you will be delighted by one of the best live CD's to hit the market. The production is top quality and the sound is amazing. The opening track "It's All Been Done 4 Me" is complete arena rock pouring into the front row as the crowd goes crazy and it doesn t stop there "Now Dies The Truth" will have the fans on their feet screaming and singing along. I am not big on Live CD's but this one sets new standards. I loved the rotation of the tracks and Kraler's charisma will have you focused. The guitar work between acoustic and electric blends perfect with many of the songs, and Kraler's vocals are reminiscent of the Scorpions' Klaus Meine. "No More Promises" has some riveting licks by Bruno Kraler & Bobby Altvater that accompany this hooked filled tune. One thing that does disappointment me is that a band like BRUNOROCK does not get the exposure they deserve. This is a top quality band of melodic masters and I promise if you're a fan of that genre you will be hooked.

Review of Sam Alex "Pieces" in Strutter Magazine 02/2004 ... "The German singer SAM ALEX recorded his debut CD in the famous German SKY STUDIOS, together with producer/bassist/guitarist BOBBY ALTVATER (AFFAIR). The album is called 'Pieces' and is a real sensational AOR/Melodic Rock record in the best European tradition of TREAT, FAIR WARNING, FRONTLINE, TERRA NOVA, ZINATRA... Especially the start is very promising, with such fantastic uptempo AOR/Melodic Rockers like "Do it your way" (very catchy, pure TERRA NOVA), "Chance to win" (pure AOR, with a very good chorus and strong guitarwork), "Dancing with tears in my eyes" (cover, which now sounds a bit like EDGUY!), "Feel the fire" (JOURNEYish harmonyvocals) and the ROBBY VALENTINE cover "Magic breeze". Although towards the end, the CD is just a bit less sensational, in general speaking this is a highly recommended very strong AOR/Melodic Rockalbum from Germany, and actually it is better than the recent OUTLAND AOR album, just to mention a similar sounding record. Not only the production on the SAM ALEX CD is huge, but also the included songs are very impressive, so the AOR fans know what to do now! Get yourself a copy!" (Points: 9.0 out of 10)

Review about Sam Alex "Pieces" in Target Record's catalogue: "Was eine Freude, endlich das ganze Album in den Player legen zu duerfen! Schon nach der Veroeffentlichung der mittlerweile raren 3-Track-CD mit der wundervollen Version von "Dancing with tears in my eyes" (auch hier drauf) wollte ich mehr von diesem Klassesänger hoeren. Hervorragend von Bobby Altvater in Szene gesetzt (er hat auch bei den meisten Songs mitgeschrieben und toll produziert), haut einen Sam Alex die Melodic-Rock-Perlen um die Ohren. Klasse Gitarren, treibende Keyboardlaeufe und dazu die tolle Stimme, ein Cocktail, der mich in Verzueckung versetzt. Als Freund gut gemachter Coverversionen hab ich mich sehr an der Umsetzung von "Sounds like a melody" von Alphaville und "The magic breeze" von Robby Valentine erfreut. Obwohl man keinen der anderen Songs herauspicken sollte, muss ich doch "Feel the fire" besonders loben. Vorm Suechtigwerden sei an dieser Stelle gewarnt !" Robert Pancur

Review of Boogie Stuff "Have Mercy !" in Break Out 09/2004 ... "Sie nennen sich Boogie Stuff, stammen aus dem suedlichen Bayern und fuehlen sich schon seit vielen Jahren im Heavy-Blues-Boogie-Southern-Rock-Bereich sauwohl. Nun liegt die neue Scheibe des Trios vor, an der neben Boogie Stuff-Saenger und Gitarrist Horst Tolks auch der Sky Studio-Besitzer Bobby Altvater als Produzent Hand anlegt hat. Das garantiert einen fetten Sound, der das Material der Gruppe gut zur Geltung bringt. Ten Years After, Rory Gallagher, ZZ Top, Climax Blues Band, Lynyrd Skynyrd und noch viel mehr sind die Referenzen. Neben eigenem Material bieten Boogie Stuff auch eine Reihe gelungener Cover-Versionen, die teilweise auch aeusserst ueberzeugend umarrangiert worden sind: "Don't Believe A Word" von Phil Lynott, "Homesick" von der Atlanta Rhythm Section oder der alte Disco Feger "Funky Town" sind Beispiele genug. Und ein ganz besonderes Schmankerl bietet der Silberling zum Abschluss auch noch: Auf den drei Live-Stuecken ist als Vokalist kein Geringerer zu hoeren als Jimmy Carl Black, Original Mitglied und Drummer bei Frank Zappa's Mother's Of Invention."
